The American who Shagged Me
Yeah baby! We are off to California tomorrow and are excited as hell! As this is a momentous occasion I thought I would pay homage to the place which made this trip possible: England. (That is where my sweetheart and I met)
These are photos of me modeling my super sexy England Football jersey. Although they can't even qualify for the European Championships they have won a World Cup, once, which is what that little star represents. (Wink) I am sure it is only a matter of time before America has a little star too. (Wink Wink Wink)
I have delayed posting photos of the jersey because I didn't have the proper accessory. But now I have my mucha sun glasses (mucha, prounced moo-ha, is 'fly' in Polish) so it's all good. And you know I look pimp as hell in them so don't even try to hate.
I'll be back in about one month so go ahead and browse through my past post and enjoy the photos and stories. See you all very soon...

Almost Gone
We are both very excited that our America trip is only a few days away. I will unfortunately be unable to post from the road but I will be sure to take lots of photos to share with you all when we get back. Los Angeles isn't the best tourist city (poor public transportation and large distances between things means you absolutely need a car for example) but there are loads of things to do there. In addition to LA we will also be seeing the San Diego area, the California desert east of LA, Vegas, and southern Utah.
Basically our trip will be something like this:
- Los Angeles (Beaches, Shopping, Museums, more Beaches)
- San Diego (SD Zoo, Sea World, Baseball Games)
- The River (Dune Buggies, London Bridge, Hoover Dam)
- Vegas (Well, just Vegas)
- Utah (Zion NP, Guns, Mormons)
- LA (Final Shopping and Beaches, Universal Studios)
- Fly home!
These will be the last of the California desert photos I post for a while. The mountains above are immediately behind the city of Palm Springs and are the San Jacinto Mountains. You can take a ride on the Areal Tramway to the top and hike or walk around, or simply enjoy the view. I am not sure why I like the bottom photo of Interstate-10 but I do. I-10 goes from Santa Monica in California all the way to Jacksonville Florida and covers a distance of 2460 miles (3959 km). I have driven about half that distance from Austin Texas to Los Angeles. In all of Poland, by contrast, there are only about 480 miles (770 km) of what can be considered highway roads. Hopefully Euro 2012 will change that though.

Desert Cat
This is by far my favorite photo of myself (well, until I post photos on Tuesday of next week that is). I am difficult to see but if you look hard you can see my reflection in the cat's eyes. This is the lone cat who lives in Landers with all of the dogs below. Naturally he had as much personality as the dogs.

Who Let the Dogs Out?
Raider was the ultimate in Junk Yard Dogs. According to his owner he had been attacked by coyotes two or three times and lived to tell the tale. His left-hand-side had clear damage (as if he had been attacked and wounded) so I believed the story. He was a super friendly dog too and enjoyed hanging out with us in the house.
There were three other dogs at the Landers house but I never knew their names. They were all pretty friendly though. I especially liked the furry tan dog in the left photo; he was a lot of fun although a bit of a spaz sometimes.

Tip the 40oz.
This picture cracks me up. It's my friend's boy drinking from his bottle. It's not Mad Dog or anything but he'll learn soon enough. That Ghetto Wine website has other interesting drinks (some from my youth) including Thunderbird. Gotta love it. On a serious note I like how the photo is focused on the screen door and the boy is blurry; especially because you can see detail of the screen. Additionally, the violet from his bottle is a nice contrast to his blue shirt and the tan of his skin.

Odds and Ends
A few still life photos for you today from the Landers area. I like the combination of blue from the CD player and white from the light bulb and how that contrasts with the brown of the dusty particle board below. Plus I really enjoy Pendulum's music as well.
This, a corner in my friend's house, shows two old cowboy painting in a very distinct stytle. Their style matches well with the dilapidated walls and the pop-corn ceiling.

Reality Sets In
We are just over two weeks away from our California adventure and plans are coming together nicely. Unfortunately some of the things we want to see will be unavailable due to winter conditions. Certain roads or areas will be closed, snow chains are required, that sort of stuff. Fortunately there are so many interesting and fun things to see that will be open it is not going to be much of a problem, we will have plenty to do. We are still working out the details but before we go I will post our itinerary.
Some things we will be able to see include beautiful and strange desert scapes like these. Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs, Lake Havasu (and the London Bridge), the Hoover Dam, Vegas, and on and on and on. Not to mention everything LA and San Diego have to offer as well. We are going to have a full three weeks!
